The de-ghosting process removes the source and receiver ghosts produced by the reflection on the water surface. It has two positive effects: firstly, it removes the side lobes in the seismic wavelet which increases resolution and reveals the true nature of the seismic. Secondly, it boosts the low and middle frequency ranges by removing the destructive effect of the addition of the signal and its ghost.
