Portuguese term

91 EMISSAO 02A. VIA CANCELADA [DATA], MOT.=A

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs CNH Prontuário
The phrase appears on a driving licence (CNH) history log (Prontuário) issued by State Traffic Department (DETRAN) São Paulo.

It indicates the licence issued a few days before was cancelled. The following line indicates a new licence was issued that same day (also the "segunda via" of the licence).

The term "MOT.=A" presumably gives the reason (motivo) for the cancellation, being code "A".

I suspect this is due to an error in the name or other details on the licence that required correcting. It does not seem likely to be due to any offence, given the immediate reissuing of the licence.

However, I've not been able to find any online references relating to Prontuário lines with the identifier 91 listing the MOT. codes.

Does anyone have a definitive answer, ideally with a link to the relevant legislation or instructions for the prontuário?

Thanks in advance.

Answer found I tracked down a manual for completing the prontuário. PDF available at:

The codes are given on page 300.

A = DETRAN error; B = Printing error (error gráfico); Z = Others.
