This session will feature a celebrated German author alongside a dual-talented self-published author who is also a seasoned translator. We’ll explore the unique challenges and rewards of translating literary works, from capturing the author’s voice to bridging cultural nuances.
Andreas Eschbach:
Andreas Eschbach is a renowned German author, best known for his science fiction novels that often blend elements of the fantastic. With a background in aerospace engineering and software development, he has been writing since childhood. His works have earned multiple Kurd-Laßwitz-Preis and Deutscher Science Fiction Preis awards and have been translated into several languages. Notably, his novel Jesus Video was adapted for German television, and Eine Billion Dollar became a radio drama. Among his few works available in English are The Carpet Makers, Lord of All Things, and Perry Rhodan 0 – The Greatest Adventure: Novel.

Barbara Dierel:
Barbara Dierel is a travel writer, digital nomad, and entrepreneur.
