After attending the 2012 American Translators Association conference, I became involved in a new "student involvement committee" of the ATA's Spanish Language Division. The committee, of which I am the chair, has begun to support students and newcomers to the translation profession by holding sessions at the annual ATA conference, creating an online forum for students, and running a "newbie" blog.
