Through its annual conference, its publications, collaboration with other professional organizations, and lobbying efforts, ALTA works to enhance the quality and status of literary translation and to improve the market for the publication of works in English translation. ALTA services are currently supported by members, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the University of Texas at Dallas.
