How to deal with gender-sensitive use of the German language?

You'll have to make some adjustments to your Preferences. Note that these are tied to Project Templates (if you use them).

Make sure that * _ : and / are removed from here:

Restart CafeTran Espresso, now the term recognition works for gender-sensitive terms:

Vom amtlichen Regelwerk nicht abgedeckt sind Schreibweisen wie die folgenden:

mit Genderstern (Asterisk): Schüler*innen
mit Binnen-I (wortinterne Großschreibung): SchülerInnen
mit Gender-Gap (Unterstrich; Doppelpunkt): Schüler_innen; Schüler:innen
mit Schrägstrich ohne Ergänzungsstrich: Schüler/innen

Übersetzer*innen, ÜbersetzerInnen, Übersetzer_innen, Übersetzer:innen, Übersetzer/innen

Note that you'll have to use a segmentation rule that doesn't create new segments after a colon.

I'm not currently working as a translator but if I were I'd refuse as much as possible to translate texts that use so-called "gender-neutral" language.
