Does anybody know a good way of "global" converting text boxes into text in Word XP? My problem is as follows. I just received a large DOC file which turned out to be a scanned document read into Word with some OCR software. The document maintains the original text layout but consists of thousands of text boxes. I would like to convert these text boxes into normal text (maybe even at the cost of partial loss of formatting) but cannot find a way of doing it "globally" for the whole d... Have a look in the Files section of the Wordfast group (http://groups.yahoo.com/wordfast), they have a little application there apparently to run from within Word, which converts text in text boxes into normal text. I downloaded it some time ago but never tried it yet. Contact me directly if you want me to send it to you. Regards, Grace. | | | Cicero United Kingdom Local time: 08:21 Japanese to English + ... Hi Natalie If the formating is not too difficult to carry out after the translation has been done try selecting all (Ctrl + A), Copy (Ctrl + C) and then Paste special (In the Edit toolbar)- choose Paste as Unformatted text. Dear all, thank you very much for your attempts to help. Unfortunately, life isn't that easy... Hynek, your macro is identical to that recommended by Grace (and that one did not work: it evoked a new empty Word window, and that was all). I suspect that the reason is the Word version (I use Word XP under Win98 ). The best way in my case was copying the text and pasting "special". Thanks a bunch to everybody!
