I'm working in Word, and everytime I press the tabulator a new window opens up. I've not changed any of my settings, at least, not that I know of. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can get back my tab...

Thanks,
Anu

More details required Jan 28, 2004

Hi Anu,
I'm working in Word,

...which version of Word?

I don't have an answer, but for issues like these, the exact version (also including service releases / service packs) is often vital.

Best, Ralf

Reboot Jan 28, 2004

1. Try leaving Word or, better yet, reboot the computer.

It may help. I get strange allergic reactions to various keys sometimes (rarely) and rebooting usually helps.

2. Check the assigned keyboard shortcut dialog (Insert > Symbol > Keyboard shortcut) - maybe you have inadvertently assigned something.

Open new document in Word is CTRL + N

No more ideas now... Good luck

problem solved Jan 28, 2004

I checked insert- that wasn't the problem.

still don't know why/how it happened- we clicked around a bit, changed from De(standard) to En(standard) and back again and now tab's working

Thanks for the support!
