Can I keep the formatting intact while pasting the matter in MS Word from pdf

Sometimes, I need to copy the matter from a pdf file and paste it in a new MS Word file. I am able to do so but the entire formatting gets disturbed. For example, at times, the text at the bottom of pdf file goes to the top of the Word file! So, I have to rearrange the whole matter by consulting the pdf file which consumes a great deal of time.
Is there any way out of this problem? Can the formatting be kept intact and undisturbed?

What if you first save the pdf file as a Word document? Maybe it's at least a bit easier...

I use the column select tool for copying textparts into Word. But even then there are problems, paragraphs can change place and fi or fl are represented as "." When copying whole pages from pdf use Abbyy Finereader. That's reliable. Cheers! Heinrich

ScanSoft has various products ranging from $50.00 to $500.00 (cheaper on eBay) that will produce a Word file from a PDF file. You can then copy and paste from a Word file to a Word file.
