Hi,

a client wants a translation which I do with Studio 2019 as a bilingual table. The source has free parts for translation. The problem is, that my trados translation comes out
in column of the source and the column for translation remains empty. Is there a possibility to creat the bilingual table with trados?

Thanks
Johanna von der Vring

Not aware it does. Dec 22, 2021

You can get your list in the target language, then just paste it next to your source list of terms, presumably in a Spreadsheet, or in a Word table, on the right-hand side.

Not aware it can be done directly in Trados.

Maybe you can export it for bilingual review, your will then get such a similar table.

Or, go to File>Print&View>Print Preview, you will then get a similar table, at least as a print view, but not sure it’s editable or useful for your client

Make a 2-column table in MS Word Dec 22, 2021

First you have to create a 2-column table in MS Word.
Then copy your source text and insert it both in the left and the right column.
Then select all your left column and press Ctrl+Shift+H to hide its contents. And save the file.
Then translate the saved 2-column file with Trados.
Then open the file in MS Word, select all the left column and press Ctrl+Shift+H again to unhide it.
That's it.
