Forums which attract my attention. Oct 26, 2009

Clear and simple.

IMO, my above title should have been included in one of the options to the answer.

Why mention a forum that is closed to the majority of Prozians? Oct 26, 2009

ProZ.com Certified PRO Network is a secret, hidden-away forum only visible and open to people with a P. You may as well include the Mod forum, also secret and hidden-away.
Since the polls are supposedly aimed at the entire Proz community and not at just a select few, I don't understand why such a forum was listed as a possible response.

Probably these poll forums Oct 26, 2009

Forums about Proz.com have become boringly predictable. These poll forums, however, can be quite fun and interesting.

Other - "Most recent posts" Oct 26, 2009

I don't follow any one particular forum more than others (except perhaps the Quick Polls), but rather click on the "Most recent posts" link when I've got a spare minute.

If I come across a topic of particular interest, I do tend to follow the thread while it lasts.

Best,
Jocelyne

These poll forums are the only ones I read often and participate in. They are nice breaks from work.

I have a faintish memory of suggesting this poll - and I guess this makes me luckier than our colleague Heinrich Pesch, who couldn't recognize his own poll recently. I am pretty sure that I suggested the poll when I was a site moderator and for reasons related to some discussion on improving the site forums: my intention was to make an 'informed suggestion' in the mods' forum after getting the public opinion on something... but what was that thing? I have a faintish memory of suggesting this poll - and I guess this makes me luckier than our colleague Heinrich Pesch, who couldn't recognize his own poll recently. I am pretty sure that I suggested the poll when I was a site moderator and for reasons related to some discussion on improving the site forums: my intention was to make an 'informed suggestion' in the mods' forum after getting the public opinion on something... but what was that thing? Ever since I found this poll on the left-hand side of the mainpage as a freshly innovative revolutionary novelty and played with my screen setup in vain for a few moments of dumbly half-witted old-school conservative stupidity, I've been trying hard to remember why. But, like I said, in vain. In any case, I am pretty sure I didn't include the CertPRO forum, because it didn't exist yet then. And worse, even though I may stand a better chance of being taken seriously with my suggestions now as part of the sounding board, I have no idea what to do with the bit of information I'll gather from this poll.

So, let's quote the most stunning and painful couple of lines I have ever read in my life -but I have a memory problem with that one too - was it Borges?- and ask if it isn't better never than late.

I chose 'Other' myself, by the way, to see what color today's graphic bars are.

Thanks for the explanation Özden Oct 26, 2009

So this poll is based on your original suggestion and edited by the site staff. That may well explain the inclusion of the P network.

Surprised... Oct 26, 2009

I am a little surprised by the number of people who do not read the forums at all. Although maybe I shouldn't be.

Whatever pops up on the home page Oct 26, 2009

That's what I read, or rather, I pick the topics that interest me from that list.

Besides the Quick Poll, my main interest at present is to see what will become of this site I used to love so much.
