I am starting to think that it may be a scam. I have googled him and I can't find anything... Anyone has more clues please??? Thank you for your help Gemma ▲ Collapse

I got it too, but binned it straight away. Of no interest whatsoever, plus it did sound suspicious to me.
I have just received the same offer which went directly in SPAMS box. So, I always check the informations up before answering. Thanks for your participation !!! It was very helpful for me Best, Mrs Amel Ducret

Someone called me with a similar proposal a few weeks ago. It was not the same person. I declined the offer.

I nearly answered saying that no he did not want me as his PA because I would be hopeless at it and he would be better off looking elsewhere, as Proz is littered with people rather like me, good at spending hours polishing a sentence, hopeless at finding a decent hotel and remembering the wife's birthday... then I decided it just wasn't worth the effort.

Received it and reacted to it. No fool like an old fool. Thank goodness for Credit Agricole Centre France who stopped the cheque that "Andrew Doyle" sent me. I should have found it odd that an American would spell it cheque and not check. He even responded to my mail telling him that the cheque was a dud. "I must get back to my client", he wrote. I assume and hope that's the last I'll hear of him. I did send him a scan of my passport, for what that's worth. He gave his address as 311 S Garey Ave... See more Received it and reacted to it. Hi Gerald, The same happened to me. I'm so glad the bank took its time and checked the check! I also sent a scan of my passport. Today I called the Gendarmerie via https://www.internet-signalement.gouv.fr, and they advised me to "signaler la fraude" on the site, so you're covered (or hope you'll be) if your passeport is used for some other fraudulent scheme.
