I forgot the 'a' before 'win-win' and now it's too late to edit it. Excellent illustration of how management speak can distract from the task. I was also knackered, as it was a gruelling Tuesday. Don't fret. Engineers leave out the article all the time. They say "continuous supply to water treatment plant", don't they? They like that kind of thing. It maintains the mystery for us mortals. Saying "the water treatment plant" all the time just shows you're an outsider. Or a translator.

It maintains the mystery for us mortals. Saying "the water treatment plant" all the time just shows you're an outsider. Or a translator. Right, engineers, IT specialists and other technicians often don't write properly, but that's hardly a useful benchmark for a translator – to use another word the corporate world loves. But even the best novel often goes to print with at least one error.

Philippe Over the top, sorry. Sarcasm? Making fun of marketing speak or translators? ;-( Beloved customers to me has the ring of dearly beloved we are gathered here or is at least way too personal and when I read one-stop-shop solutions tailored I take a deep sigh and shudder. Shaping a sustainable future for the benefit of all borders on delusions of grandeur.

Since I adopted 3 dogs my cats don't give me the privilege of taking photographs to them that often anymore. Here's Dalia sitting on a chocolate box (sorry for the zoom in). What is it with us translators and cats?

Why is it acceptable, both on this site and in real life, to air offensive views but not to use offensive language? Why are four-letter words not also covered by freedom of speech?
